There's dark matter between the hearts
That used to be so close.
Suddenly we reach and find

The umbilical cord is being cut

The stars are going out on their own

The dark matter's growing
In the void that's been left bare.
The light from the stars
Just doesn't go as far anymore.
We're reaching for what used to be
Beneath our fingertips.
